Hello Everyone,
I guess I’ll get this started. My name is Michael Darnell. If you’ve been active at all on Gel’s live streams, you’ll already know a little about me. I found Gel and her family like many others have, through the Q Adventures YouTube channel. I was researching the Philippines as a potential landing spot for early retirement due to the strength of the U.S. dollar there. Derek’s channel was one the first ones I stumbled upon, and I’m thankful I did. When he introduced us to Gel (See her YouTube story above), he told us that she would charm us for 45 minutes, and of course, she did just that. But in the five months that have passed since then, that charm has not only grown, but has expanded to include her family as well. Their humble, hard-working lifestyle in the mountains is such a breath of fresh air to my city life in Pittsburgh, PA. USA. I’m looking forward to watching her channel grow and learn more about the Philippines. We have an excellent core of “Gelnatics” and would welcome everyone to this community. Fair warning though, as we are very protective of this young lady, and rightfully so since she is only twelve years-old. I hope to see some new people in the live stream chats until we get more involved on this website. Also, be patient as not everything goes smoothly. This channel and website are being built from from scratch and there are growing pains. But if you look back and see how far Gel and the channel have come in a really short time, it’s nothing short of extraordinary. Kuya Michael Out.

KuyaSteven here, or Chlupl on YouTube. I’ve been with this channel from the beginning and it’s been a pleasure getting to know Gel and her family. I’m in Texas, USA, but hoping to make my first trip to the Philippines soon and perhaps retire there. I love the culture, especially in the province.. it’s the best of my home and not so much of the worst, lol. Looking forward to seeing this channel & community continue to grow, and Gel to prosper.

Greetings everyone!

My friends and family call me Jonjon, which is part of my YouTube name. I was named after JFK Jr, the son of the late President. I now live close to Los Angeles, California but have lived in different countries throughout my life because I was in the US military as well as my parents and grandparents. I am of Filipino heritage but was born in California. Both my parents are from San Carlos City, Pangasinan.

I enjoy travel videos on occasion and like many people here, discovered Gel’s YouTube channel from Q Adventures’ channel. I found Gel to be quite charming, adorable, and values her family and friendship. Gel, you have a wonderful and infectious smile along with a great sense of humor. I was thrilled to find out that Gel has her own YouTube channel. When asked what does she want for her birthday present she replied, “Just good health for my family.” She melted my heart and now here I am.

Gel, I hope to see more of your videos and livestreams with you and your beautiful family. I’m sure you will have a very successful YouTube channel.

My retirement target city of Baguio is nearby your parents’ home town as well, so we have a little in common. Hope to see you in one of Gel’s live stream chats soon.

Michael, thank you so much for the kind words and warm welcome! Both my father and I were in the USAF. We lived at Clark AFB, PI for 2 years in the 1970’s before it closed. Later when I joined the Air Force, I visited every country in Pacific Asia because I was part of a flight crew. How I wish I could retire in the PI but I have deep roots here in the US. I do plan to visit Cebu later this year and who knows? I might just stop by Gel’s store to buy some banana chips! I’m sure we’ll see more of each other in Gel’s future videos.
